Springfield Mill, Nottingham
Springfield Mill is a Grade II listed former lace mill on the banks of the Erewash Canal in Sandiacre. This building formed part of the initial portfolio taken on by Wildheart when the developer folded.
Over the past 15 years Wildheart has worked closely with the receivers and subsequent freeholders to enhance and maintain this beautiful, red brick property.
The original brief from the receivers was to let all 105 apartments. When the freehold and apartments were sold to an investment company the focus changed slightly and some apartments were marketed for sale. Wildheart worked with external suppliers to furnish and present a selection of units on the open market. The homes are desirable to investors, owner/occupiers and tenants.
In April 2020 a building fire tore through part of the property. Half of the development was damaged by fire or water. Wildheart took an active role in supporting residents to get back into their homes as quickly as possible.
The building took almost four years to reinstate to its former glory. During this time, Wildheart worked closely with owners, insurers and their loss adjusters and contractors on the project that cost more than £15 million. The reinstatement won the Residential Property of the Year Award at the Constructing Excellence East Midlands Awards, 2024.
